About the
Research and Consulting Center
The Research and Consulting Center at Misurata University was established pursuant to the University President’s Decision No. (87) of 2005. The Center initially comprised several branches, including the Office of Engineering Research and Consulting, the Office of Economic Research and Consulting, and the Office of Biological Research and Consulting.
The Center was officially accredited by the Minister of Education’s Decision No. (322) dated May 30, 2007.
In 2014, the establishment of the Office of Legal Research and Consulting was proposed, followed in 2015 by the establishment of the Offices of Medical, Information Technology, and Social Research and Consulting. Based on the University Council’s Decision No. (5) of 2019, the Center was reorganized to include several specialized offices in the fields of engineering, economics, biological and medical sciences, education, law, and Arabic language studies.
The Center witnessed significant development when it was granted legal personality and independent financial liability under the Council of Ministers’ Decision No. (698) of 2022, which strengthened its autonomy while maintaining its affiliation with the University. In the same year, the Office of Biological and Medical Sciences was separated into two independent offices: Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences.
These efforts culminated in the approval of the new organizational structure of the Center pursuant to the Council of Ministers’ Decision No. (166) of 2024, ensuring the continuity of research and consulting activities in accordance with modern foundations that meet societal needs.
